Lake Ontario Wine Trail Welcomes Newest Member and first brewery, DisBatch Brewery
The Lake Ontario Wine Trail is thrilled to announce their newest member of the trail, and first brewery, DisBatch Brewery! DisBatch opened in 2022 and is the first brewery to open in Wayne County to brew in-house, right on the corner of Canandaigua Road and Gananda Parkway. Having been open for a year, they make a variety of beers including but not limited to lagers, IPAs, stouts, sours, and more.
The owners are two couples, David and Colleen Stalker and Daniel and Donna Godown who have known each other for over 25 years. After home-brewing together for the last ten years and building a love affair with beer, they decided to chase the dream and open their own brewery right in their own community. “We are very excited to be able to join the wine trail this year. Community is key to us; we want to be able to give back. We are currently offering wines and ciders exclusively from our local county, and we are proud to be the first brewery to brew onsite in Wayne County!” says Colleen Stalker, owner.
Their mission is threefold: Community, Service and Sacrifice. When they first developed their brand, the COVID-19 pandemic was in full swing. The name DisBatch refers to not only making “batches” of beer, but also to first-responders and Emergency Dispatching. All four owners have either been a first-responder, 911 Dispatcher, or closely related and affected personally by someone who has been on the front lines. The five colors in their logo symbolize the five main branches of emergency response: dispatch, fire, police, medical, and military. It was important to them to honor those first responders and bring awareness and support.
The Lake Ontario Wine Trail has been in operation for just over a decade, spanning from the east side of Rochester over to Fair Haven, NY and continues to grow year over year. “The Lake Ontario Wine Trial is a great organization that brings together many of the producers in our area. It’s a great opportunity to visit wineries, cideries and distilleries, and now having our first brewery really brings it all together. It’s been great to show off different locations that are off the well-beaten paths of the Finger Lakes without compromising on quality.” Audrey Allen, Event Coordinator & Social Media liaison for Lake Ontario Wine Trail.
The Lake Ontario Wine Trail prides itself with providing a diverse selection of not only wines, but ciders, spirits and now beers as well from our 10 full member locations. The Lake Ontario Wine Trail kicks off its 2023 season with its first event, Roll Out the Barrels on April 22nd and 23rd. More information can be found at www.lakeontariowinetrail.com.
DisBatch Brewery is currently open Wednesday-Sunday from 12pm-10pm.
