The Lake Ontario Wine Trail stretches from the eastern corner of Monroe County NY, encompasses the vast majority of Wayne County and now stretches into Cayuga County.

Due to our location along the shores of Lake Ontario, our wineries, cideries, brewery, and farms produce some of the best fruit in New York State.

Our soil and climate, coupled with our years of experience in the industry, make our wines, spirits, and hard ciders unique. Each bottle is handcrafted with care; with each look, smell, and sip, we are offering you a small taste of what we have to offer.

Lake Ontario Wine Trail Region

Our trail is comprised of more than just wineries, cideries, and a brewery and that’s what makes us different from all the rest.

Our associate members include charming Bed & Breakfasts, great restaurants, bountiful farm markets, and unique shops and sites. Each location along the Trail is waiting to be discovered; you can plan a day trip and be home in time for dinner, or make a weekend of it! We welcome you to experience all we have to offer - so start your adventure today!

Trail Officers

Herm Young

Herm's love of farming with his appreciation for wine, set the wheels in motion several years ago. If grape wines taste better because they have the spirit of another fruit, why not make wine from these fruits. In addition to wine making, his family runs a fruit farm which produces nearly two dozen varieties of apples, cherries, peaches, plums and pears. They enjoy working on a small scale and developing a product that satisfies the needs of their customers.

Audrey Allen

Audrey, the winemaker at JD Wine Cellars and one of owner-members of Long Acre Farms & JD Wine Cellars. She has been working full-time at her family farm since 2019 as the head winemaker after spending time in New Zealand and Australia working at wineries to gain some experience. She is a true support of the Lake Ontario Wine Trail and is involved in organizing all of the events and social media marketing and is excited to see the expansion of the trail and welcome newcomers to this wonderful area.

Marilyn Caywood

Marilyn believes that the Lake Ontario Wine Trail is a hidden gem. As Administration Assistant, she hopes to bring more visibility to the trail and it's participants.
